Some organizations here offer commitment ceremonies for gay couples, who've found the incredible lake views a proper backdrop for their outdoor observances.
The winter schedule for gay travelers is punctuated by Blue Gay-La and WinterFest Gay and Lesbian Ski Week, in its 13th year.
Blue Gay-La is South Lake Tahoe's legendary gay ski week. With three South Shore resorts offering a combined 9,100 skiable acres, they claim "size definitely does matter in Lake Tahoe." For non-skiers, there are plenty of indoor/outdoor adventure options from snowmobile rides and ice skating to boat cruises and spa treatments. For several years now, South Lake Tahoe's Gay and Lesbian Ski Week has been offering great entertainment - notorious Drag Races on skis and memorable apres ski parties.
